MiRan a new artist at Whimsy Stamps
Hello everybody!
I'm here today as part of the Whimsy Stamps blog hop to celebrate the debut release of their new Art by Mi Ran Collection! They have 7 new rubber stamps, illustrated by Mi Ran, exclusively for Whimsy Stamps. If you didn't come here Samantha's blog you may want to start at the beginning of the blog hop at Ruza's blog HERE. If you do the entire hop and leave a comment at all the stops you have a chance to win the Grand Prize of 3 new Art by Mi Ran rubber stamps!! Whimsy Stamps will draw the lucky winner from the comments left on the different stops. You'll find the next stop in the hop on the bottom of my post, but first I want to show you what I created for this hop:
The pretty stamp that I've used is called For You, I adore this pretty girls large eyes and her pretty dress. Since she's really girly I decided to go all girly on this one. The base of the card was cut with the Double Scallop Square Doily die by Whimsy Stamps which right away makes the card decorative I think. And the text stamp, which is also by Whimsy Stamps I thought was perfect to go with this image. I've used some gorgeous embellishments mostly by Wild Orchid Crafts (you'll find a list of the products below) and the papers that I used are from the Always and Forever solid and design paper paper pads by Lili of the Valley.
A close up of the image, as always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced. I've added some yummie stickles here and there and some gloss to the balloons.
Had to show you the back of the card as well :). Again the pretty Always and Forever papers, the double scallop border die to go with the card shape and I'm still so much in love with my personal stamp created by Meljen's Designs and Ann Vento (also for Whimsy). I've paper pieced the heart with matching design paper.
The side of the card. What I've done is I've folded a sheet of white kraft cardstock in half and placed the double scallop square die on top of that with one edge slightly over the folded side. You do have to run the stack a couple of times through your cutting machine and perhaps help some of the pieces that aren't completely cut with fine scissors but I love the shape of the card. I've cut two more squares and glued those exactly over both sides of the card to make the card more sturdy and to complete the shape of the square at the folded side. Hope that all makes sense to you if not just let me know :).
And the little pieces. There were some tiny pieces in there and not everything went perfect, especially the right ear/hear/face gave me a hardtime and I ended up taking the easy way but I do like how she turned out.
Hope you guys like my card and the new artist. There are more images being released today so be sure to check out the Whimsy Stamps blog HERE for more blogs to visit!
