Merry Christmas!! with a Fairwee by Sweet November

Hey sweet people!!

 

My last Christmas card for this year and I'm using it to wish all of you an incredible Christmas, filled with warmth and love, shared with the people you hold closest to your hearts!

 The pretty image is one by Sweet November for All That Scraps, it's called Fairwee Piper's Snowman and it's both available as a rubber stamp and a digi. The pretty flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts (see Elise, I do love those Gardenia's :) ), the oval shapes and the corners are Nestabilitie Dies, the corners are actually a rectangle die that I cut into pieces :). The stupid thing is that I cut the strip with the brand of these papers so I have no idea what they are, they are distressed with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and were glittered up with Star Dust Stickles and Viva Eiskristall. The glitter doesn't appear on pictures the way it should. I actually saw this combination when I was at the Dutch KreaDoe, I walked toward the Magnolia stand, where Monique Lokhorst was demonstrating and from a huge distance I noticed the gorgeous glitter. She told me the products she had used and I HAD to get some!! Monique's cards are always GORGEOUS on pictures but believe me... in real, they are SO much prettier with the glitter!!

Cute little Tulip Monkey

Hi Everybody!!

Yes, back again :). Today I have a card to show you that I think is really cute. This cutie was released by All That Scraps last year and his name is Tulip Monkey (also available as as a digi). I adore this little fellow.

Now this picture doesn't look that sharp small but when you click on it you'll get the larger view and I think that looks much better. I think this was my first time coloring tulips so I googled pictures of tulips and decided to color them pink with white tips. The absolutely stunning papers are digi ones by Michele R Designs for Whimsy Stamps and this line is called Grunge Cottage Charms. One at a time I inserted the papers that come as .jpg files into Word, in the settings I put the paper size on 6 x 6 inch, I put the margins as low as possible (I just set them to zero and then agree to the fix that Word comes up with because it won't take zero) and print them in a normal quality to white bazzill cardstock that I have cut into 6x6 inch squares. The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaves are a McGill punch. The oval shapes are all nestabilitie dies. The heart border is by Whiff of Joy and the corner is by Whimsy Stamps. I have handstitched the papers using a light pink shiny thread, distressing has been done with Frayed Burlap distress ink and I have used some Diamond Stickles as well.

A close up of the cute little Tulip Monkey. As always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced. Behind him you'll see a little piece of a grass that I did with a border punch by Fiskars. The white accents are always done with my white gelpen from the Dutch Hema store and I used a few white liquid pearl dots as accents as well.

Shaker card with All That Scraps Snorkeling Beatrice

Hi people!!

Just in case you missed my post earlier today, it's below this post and there is some info in there you'll want to read later on :). But right now I want to show you a project I did with the super cute Snorkeling Beatrice stamp from All That Scraps. Now I always love to see new releases, but when I saw Snorkeling Beatrice I KNEW I had to turn her into 3D. She's so funny. I decided to try my hands on a shaker card:

Now this card looks SO much better in real life then on a picture. I find it very hard to take pictures of shaker cards.... don't know if I'll try one again but love how this one looks though. Papers are little scraps of very old paper, no idea which company they are from. I have distressed the edges of the paper with both Frayed Burlap distress ink and picked fence crackle paint by Tim Holtz. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the glass beated leafs (hope you know which once I mean) are by Magnolia. The beads are from a little box of beads I bought in a budget store. There is cheese cloth behind the layers of paper and the ribbon I got from my friend Diana who bought it at the market from me (mwah!!). Here is a close up of beatrice:

 Now Beatrice has some glitter on her and some beads stuck behind her but I tink that looks kind of like she has bubbles on her. The coloring was done with Copic Markers (what else) and she was as always completely 3D paper pieced.

Hope you like my card with Snorkeling Beatrice. It will be making it's way to a little three year old on the Post voor Kanjers list. This Dutch organisation has a list of little seriously ill children, as well as their brothers and sisters, and crafters like you and me sign up to send cards to these kids, once every week or month. I hope my little Kanjer (which sort of means stunner in Dutch (I don't think there is a real translation for the word)) will love her little shaker card.

A well contained Strawberry Beatrice :)

Hi everybody!!

Today I have a project to show you with a new but already one of my favorite characters from CC Designs by All That Scraps.

Isn't this little girl adorable? Her name is Strawberry Beatrice and I think she is SO cute. As you can see I've created a little project around her. The basis of this project is a lovely template by Lauren Meader from My Time Made Easy and this one is called Well Contained. Now let me just tell you, I LOVE Lauren's templates, they are super easy to use, I love the samples she and her team come up with and I'm always so tempted to buy all of them. This is actually a set, a carton with a holder:

Isn't that adorable? Just perfect for little gifts, maybe socks for a new baby or chocolates for a teacher, so cute!! I used white and red cardstock, an acetate sheet and very old (2009?) Magnolia strawberry paper from the Lazy Summer Day's collection. The flowers are sweetheart blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts combined with parts of a leaf punch by Martha Stewart. Now the stars that are in the box and for decorative purposes around the box are special, they each contain a handwritten wish! I ordered these from Wish Upon a Star (this is a Facebook link so you'll need to be on Facebook to visit this page) and gave her a list of Dutch wishes that she wrote on strips of paper and she folded these gorgeous little stars out of those strips. Isn't that the cutest idea ever!! In case you don't have Facebook and you want to see her stuff she also sells through a Dutch friend in THIS store.

All That Scraps Umbrella Lula

Hi girls,

I know... I said I had thinks planned but all of them were for next week but I noticed that my DT buddy at All That Scraps Lesa had already put up my card with Umbrella Lula up on the ATS blog so figured I'd post it here as well :). This cutie will have her release on April 5th with previews by the regular All That Scraps team from April 3rd till April 5th (and of course a chance for you all to win some candy on the ATS blog). Here is my card with her:

Isn't she adorable? I love that little ducky she has with her too. The pretty paper is actually two different sides of one sheet by Pion Design that I bought on the Knotsgekke Kaartendagen at Scrap & More along with a whole bunch of other pretty papers. The sentiment is from THIS set by AmyR from All That Scraps and I used THIS Whimsy Stamps die set to cut it out, these dies have a matching sentiment set but as you can see you can use it for other small sentiments as well and I love how it looks. The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon is Ivory Gold Glitter Organza from The Ribbon Girl, very glittery but be prepared to have a glittery craft table when you make a bow with it :). The lace is also from the Knotsgekke Kaartendagen, no idea what store though. The clouds are from an unfortunatelly retired scenery stamp set by All That Scraps. The cute butterfly is no longer for sale but you can get similar butterflies HERE and I have added a few Shimmer Dots to her body and the square doillies are for sale again on Ebay where I bought them HERE (they were gone for a while). All stitches have been done by hand and everything was distressed with Frayed Burlap distress ink and platinum stickles. OK... that was a lot of info, now onto the pictures, here is a close up:

Special Projects Member All That Scraps, Ima Butterfly

Hi Everybody,

Today I have a special project for you. A few weeks back the very talented Lesa Rapp from the All That Scraps Design Team contacted me. Christine, the owner and one of the stamp illustrators at All That Scraps had asked her to contact me and they wanted to know if I would like to be a special projects member for All That Scraps. Now I have to first tell you that my very first set of stamps was a set from All That Scraps and I have been a HUGE fan of their stamps ever since. I have seen a lot of Design Team calls come and gone and each time thought of entering but didn't only because I simply wouldn't be able to make the number of cards that is required. I have been a guest designer for All That Scraps in June of 2009 (can't believe it's been that long!!!) and I was so honored to be asked then but this request was the best ever. You'll be seeing one or two projects from me with the latest All That Scraps releases and this is my first one:

Now if you are thinking... I don't know that cutie, you are RIGHT!! This absolutely adorable stamp is called Ima Butterfly and she will be released next week, so be sure to check out the All That Scraps blog for all the peaks that are going to be showing there starting next Tuesday March 6th. The lovely sentiment is by Amy R for All That Scraps and she was released in February, you can find the set (my favorite ATS sentiment set until now) HERE. The pretty papers I used are from the Pixie-Licious Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket. The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the pretty ribbon is by The Ribbon Girl. The chandeliers are by Magnolia and the stitching was all done by hand again.

Card with Fairwee Josie by Sweet November stamps

Hello everybody!!

Wow the response to my candy (on top of my blog until this Saturday) has been amazing until now, and not only that, my number of followers has grown a lot since I started the candy as well. So welcome new followers and loyal older ones :). A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a fabulous candy pack over at Amy's blog. This candy was to celebrate to release of the gorgeous new Fairwee's by Sweet November stamps for All That Scraps and since I adored those cute little Fairwees and most of all little Josie, who I won, I couldn't have been happier. Next to sweet little Josie there was also paper, embellies and a gorgeous card by Amy herself in the pack... you can see the complete candy HERE. I loved how Amy had put sweet Josie on a mushroom so I ordered that one from All That Scraps together with some matching sentiments and other fairies and here is my first result with my latest wins and buys:

On this card, Fairwee Josie, the CC Designs Swiss Mushroom which I ordered but already owned (I know....) so there is one of these in my candy as well, CC Designs Swiss Two butterflies which I have as stamps but I could only find as digi's on the ATS site now, and the "Hope your day is Magical" sentiment stamp also from Sweet November stamps. The orange dotted paper is by Imaginisce and was in the Candy by Amy, the grass was punched using my Fiskars Grass Punch. The green ribbon is by Wild Orchid Crafts as are the roses, rose buts and mulberry flowers. The Daisy Double flowers and the shimmer dots on the sentiment I bought from Creative Treasures and that was my first order there. Have to tell you guys that my first order never arrived but after contacting them about it they told me they had prove of shipment but would send my order out again nevertheless and it was here in FOUR days, from the UK!! Now that's service! Got some other very pretty flowers from there as well, will show them later. The green dotted paper I have had in my stash for ages. The leaf was done with my new Nestabilities Foliage and the circle with the pretty border was cut using THESE dies. Some hand stitching, some white and green cardstock and I think I have mentioned it all. Here is a close up of Fairwee Josie:

First teacher's gift box

Hi ladies,

A few days ago I told you I had made two end-of-the-year-gifts for Dyanne's class to give to their teachers. Today I'm showing you the first:

Again it's a pimped sigar-box. This time I've used images by All That Scraps, the Sugarplums Crayons and Apple digi and the Swiss Pixie Cute Birgitta digi. Since I worked everything in 3D again I just colored the separate images and then 3D paperpieced them together to have Birgitta sitting on the Crayon. Flowers and stamens are by Wild Orchid Crafts. The ribbon I've had in my stash for forever and I have no idea how it got there and I also don't know where I got the heart charm with the text "made with love" (on a piece of button twine tied in with the ribbon). In the left corner is a piece of a very large square doilly sticking out and behind the images are two cardstock (nestabilitie) circles, both the doilly and the scalloped circle were embossed with UTEE embossingpowder pearl. The design paper used is from a paper pad called Oxford by Basic Grey. The design paper I used above the ribbon was just perfect for this project with pencils and stuff so I have to admit I bought the paper pad especially for that piece of paper. I also bought the large variety of that design and used that on the inside of the box. Enough info!! Here is a close up of the image:

I didn't only make the box I also made one of THESE cardfolders but in a different size to fit in the sigar box. On top of the cardfolder is of course a picture of Dyanne's class (the only person recognizable is my little girl :) ) and inside are cards I gave to each parent with on it the name of the child, what he or she wants to tell the teacher and on the back a drawing or some other piece of art. Lastly I had Parker pens engraved for the teachers. All the parents chipped in and I hope the teacher likes her gift... I did my best :):

That's it for this box. Dyanne had two teachers this year and of course I made another box with another image for the other teacher, I'll show you that one later. Hope you like this one though!!

Stamped image holder / stempeladruk houder

Hi ladies, hoi dames,

This post is going to be typed in both English as Dutch so I'll try to keep in short :). Today I have a stamped image holder to show you with CC Designs Swiss Pixies Gretel. The reason this post is both in English and Dutch is that I have made it to be auctioned of on this blog HERE by Nicole the money that is going to be raised by Nicole is going to be used for supplies for the Dutch Animal Protection Services. I'm not sure if people from other countries then The Netherlands can try and bid on the holder. If you are interested in trying your luck please contact Nicole about that.

Vandaag heb ik een stempelafdrukjes houder om aan jullie te laten zien gemaakt met CC Designs Swiss Pixies Gretel. De reden dat dit postje zowel in het Engels als het Nederlands gaat is dat ik hem heb gemaakt naar aanleiding van een verzoek van Nicole of ik iets wilde making voor haar veilingsite ten bate van de Dierenbescherming. To get the person who places the highest bid started the holder already contains twenty stamped images by twenty different stamping companies. I hope there isn't a company who is angry about these stamped images. Just to be clear, there is just one stamped image per company and I'll write the names of the companies on the back of image with pencil so that the highest bidder will know where the gorgeous images come from. I hope that since this is for a good cause nobody will really mind.

Om de persoon die het hoogste bod uitbrengt op gang te brengen bevat het mapje alvast twintig afdrukjes van twintig verschillende stempelbedrijven. Ik hoop dat omdat het maar 1 afdrukje per bedrijf is en het voor een goed doel is geen bedrijf heel kwaad wordt als ze dit lezen. Bovendien zal ik netjes de betreffende bedrijven achterop de afdrukjes vermelden zodat de hoogste bieder weet waar ze de afbeeldingen kan vinden als ze goed bevallen. Ik hoop dat iemand hier op wil bieden!

Pearl Tidepool card

Now I'm pushing it... I know :). A card yesterday and then again today..... where does this creativity and time come from. Not to worry, this is just the third image I had pre-colored in August and I had everything about this card sorted out and pre-cut a couple of weeks ago but never got around to finishing it. Here is the card put together:
I so LOVE this Pearl Tidepool stamp with her turtle friend by Sweet November stamps... in fact, I love all of the mermaids out of that collection, I don't have them all but they are all VERY cute. The materials used are all from an older Card Art kit containing papers and pearls from Kaiser Crafts. I was very sad to hear from Carmen that she has had to make the tough decision to stop the monthly kits, it just takes to much out of her. If you have been receiving her gorgeous kits in the past or if you still are you know how fantastic the kits always are and I'm sure you'll miss receiving them in you mail as much as I do!

PCS digi release and present for juf Marian

Hello girls!!

I don't know what the weather is like in your part of the world but over here in The Netherlands it is VERY hot... I wouldn't mind a bit of rain to cool things down :S. To make things worse, Amy has been ill for the past week. I had to take her to the hospital last week because she had difficulty breathing and it turned out the be laryngitis subglottica, pseudo kroep in Dutch. The breathing got way better during the next few days but she still has a fever, she is tired a lot, eats very bad, isn't her usual happy self and now complains about pain in one leg. I just got the results from her blood test but fortunately they were good so it's probably still the kroep virus. Lets just hope it'll get out of her little body soon.

Anyway... I completely forgot to warn you about yesterdays Pink Cat Studio Digi release:As you can see you got a free American Football Billy with your purchase yesterday. Now these soccer images are perfect of course with the soccer (voetbal in Dutch) WC (WK in Dutch) going on. Today at four o clock our time The Dutch team is playing the Brazilians, it's going to be an enormous challenge but I so hope they'll make it. Hup Holland Hup!!! :). Soccer Billy was already released on a rubber Billy stamp set you can find HERE. I created a sample when that set was released so I'll show you that card today:

Now today is also Dyanne's last day in school, she'll be home for the next few weeks. I made both of her teachers a gift. The gift Dyanne decided was for "juf Margreeth" I can't show you yet because I used a PCS digi that won't be released until next Thursday on that one but here is the present Dyanne gave "juf Marian":
Don't you love it? It's a soapbasket that was in the Cards Only of July/August (the last issue) and it was done by Marjan and Elly Schippers (I don't know if they have a blog, if they do could somebody send me the link so I can add it?). I had to give it a try, with different papers and images of course. This stamp is a Swiss Pixie by All That Scraps, you can find her HERE. She was colored using my Copics and I did a bit 0f 3D paperpiecing on her. Here is a close up:
The papers are old ones by Doodlebug, still think they are SO gorgeous :). Here is the back of the basket:
The butterfly is by Sizzix, the stamp is also in a set by All That Scraps, not sure which one now but if anyone really wants to know, ask and I'll look it up. A few gems for perfection. A last view:
In the basket are two satchels of hazelnut coffee, a Verkade fairtrade bar of hazelnut chocolate and a bar of Cappuccino chocolate. Really hope the teachers are into chocolate and hazelnuts :).

Well that's it for now. I'll show you the second basket next Thursday when I get to show you next Thursday and believe me... you'll love the Lily I'll have for you (oops... did I already say to much... :S).
