Teacher gifts

Hello everybody,

Today I have some teachers gifts to show you that I made last week. I decided to keep them pretty simple since I had to make three of them but I still hope you'll like them.

These are two of the three boxes I made holding 8 "Merci" chocolates per box. The box was a template that I bought from a Dutch website that sells templates. There were two PDF files that I printed on cardstock and design paper, cut, put together and decorated. You'll find the link to the purchased template below.

The adorable image is by Whipper Snapper Designs and she's named "Little girl with dotted present". I colored her three times in the same way with my Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced her. The ribbon that ties the two sides of the box together used to be available from Wild Orchid Crafts but is no longer available.

 

On the other side of the box I added some pretty roses and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts. There isn't much room to decorate on this box but can't make a gift without some flowers on them.

I packed all three boxes in cellophane wrapping foil and decorated that with again the bright pink ribbon and brads and blooms from Wild Orchid Crafts.

And a picture of the little pieces, a total of three images stacked and ready to be glued together.

Wild Orchid Challenge daisies with boxes for twins

Hi everybody!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges and this time we want you to use daisies on your project. I actually have two samples to show you today since I decided to create baby gift-boxes for this challenge for not one but two little girls that were born on June 12th, two little twin girls named Lisa and Aurelia.

Now if you have been following me for a longer period of time you may recall that I have already used this stamp ones before. It's by Whipper Snapper Designs and it's called Floppy Bunny Trio and I used it in 2011 for a box for a little boy named Kian. I don't use stamps twice often but this stamp just matched the gifts I had so perfectly that I had to use it again (and again LOL). The pretty papers are from the Rosa Dotje A Flower a day Blauw/Roze paper pad combined with pink and kraft colored cardstock. I do believe the Rosa Dotje paper is Dutch so I'm not sure if it's available in other countries. The letters are cut out of Joy Crafts fine corrugated cardboard with Sizzlits Round-a-bout dies. The ticket with the birthdate is from the Whimsy Stamps Friendship Ticket Sentiments set, I stamped it with Distress Ink Frayed Burlap, distressed it with the same ink and wrote the date with the Frayed Burlap Distress Marker. The ribbon on top is from stash. The charms are Marianne Design Newborn Charms and the pearls are from a Flourish with a Bling pink pearl pack.

A very simple baby card

I'm still busy with card I can't show you but on October 13th my Copic Marker Europe design team colleague Lydia gave birth to a little girl named Sophia. Of course I wanted to congratulate Lydia, her husband Gerwin and their older daughter Elise so a card had to be made. Because I really didn't have all that much time and wasn't feeling very well this past weekend I decided to go for a more simple card then you are used to from me.

On Splitcoast Stampers I had seen a lot of cards with layouts like these (much better though) where one piece of design paper was used in different layers. I do think it works better with larger prints or with handstamped design paper like some of the people on Splitcoast Stampers used though so I will have to try this again another time. This paper is a very old one from My Minds Eye and I have been saving this one, I think it's perfect and sweet and just right for a card for a new born little girl. The adorable little stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs and her name is Bella. I'm pretty sure that the sentiment is also by Whipper Snapper Designs but I can't find that one on their site anymore, glad I have it though because I think it's just precious. The frame behind the sentiment is from my latest Spellbinders set Floral Ovals, I kept seeing this set around and just HAD to have it. All that's left is some cardstock, some pearls and little pieces of a square doily. The stickles that were used here are Diamond and the distress ink used is Tattered Rose.

Baby box for little baby Kian with Whipper Snapper stamp

Hello sweet people!

Back with another box :). This time it's one I bought though, for the Dutch girls, deze doos is van de Hema, je koopt ze met z'n tweetjes in elkaar en dit is de kleinste van de twee. Friends of ours had a very cute little boy they named Kian on September 2nd (as you can see on the label :) ) and we wanted to give them a gift. The absolutely adorable stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs and it's called Floppy Bunny Trio. The tickets are of course by Whimsy Stamps (love my ticket stamps and die) and I used the blank tickets from the Friendship and the Holiday set again, cut them both out with my ticket die and hand-wrote the birth-date of little Kian and his place of birth which is actually Zoetermeer but in a free translation I wrote down Sweet Lake City :).

The letters for the name are Alpha Corrugated Kraft by Rusty Pickle, I've had those for ages and finally decided to use them. I've distressed them with paint and ink. The brown ribbon is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the design paper (I used a plate to make the circle) is from stash and very old and a piece of cardstock of course. I used my brown Memento dual tip marker for the faux stitching. I distressed everything with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap (my favorite). There are some white liquid pearls around them, took that from the tips posted on the blog of the brilliant Camilla HERE. I can't imagine anybody not knowing her work but if you haven't here full blog is HERE. A side view of the box with the lid, so you can see the 3D :) :

And the inside of the box, very cute little shoes and a set of a longsleeve and trousers. I ordered the shirt and the trousers from a dutch company named Rainbowbabies and I let them print his name and his birth-year with a copyright symbol on the shirt in a flock print. Love personalized gifts like this!

Sketch Saturday sketch 47!!

A lovely good morning to you all :).

Anyways... it's Saturday so the reason you must be stopping by on my blog is probably SKETCH SATURDAY!! It's already time for sketch 47 and I can't believe how many people are joining us now each week!! Thank you all so much for your participation. I loved working with this sketch!! And I personally am so pleased how my card turned out. Here's the picture:

The image is from Whipper Snapper and when I saw it in their shop I knew I had to have it. The image reminds me so much of my oldest daughter Dyanne. Her favourite toy is a little rabbit which she carries around with her everywhere and when her hair isn't in a ponytail it looks just like the hair of this little cutie :). Here is a close up:

I made this card for my sister in law who is going to have a sleep over at our house on Tuesday the 28th. The reason is because that gives me the chances to take my husband away to a concert and a lovely little hotel in Amsterdam for our fifth wedding anniversary. The reason why I can post this here is because I couldn't keep this a secret and he knows (shame on me), I'm affraid he's much better at keeping secrets because I still haven't figured out what we are going to be doing next weekend (see two posts below :) ). Anyway, my oldest is very excited about her sweet aunt staying over, she is planning to sleep together in our bed and stuff, so cute :). Here is the inside of the card:

Because my SIL is also going to be watching over my youngest Amy she had to be on the card to. Another cutie from Whipper Snapper there :).

The sentiment was done on my computer and reads "Heel erg bedankt" which means "Thank you very much" in Dutch. The design papers are all Cosmo Cricket and I love them so much!! The cardstock is from stash and I have embossed some pieces with my Cuttlebug folder. I also used my new Peony nestie which I am mad about so you'll be seeing more of that one. The ribbon I got as part of a very generous gift from my friend Helma who sells the gorgeous ribbon in a lot of gorgeous colours in her shop Stamping Corner. I guess that's all there is to tell about this one :).

We have gotten ourselves another brilliant guest designer for the next two weeks and her name is Diane. I have been checking out her blog and Diane has a unique style, I can't wait to see what gorgeous cards she is going to show us this week and the next. Welcome to the team Diane!!
