Hi girls!!
I'm typing this post on Monday morning and at this point no baby news but of course the post won't go up until Thursday so a lot can have changed by the time you read this (I certainly hope so). In any case on Wednesday the 7th is my youngest daughter Amy's birthday (I know... wouldn't it be just my luck of this little babe arrived on Wednesday too :S) so I wanted to have this post ready.
I do have baby news though... because this weeks PCS digi-release is all about cute little babies! Melissa has no less than SEVEN sweet little new baby critters for you in store today! Melissa actually had six babies at one point and I actually asked her if she couldn't create the seventh one... a little baby lion. Will you believe I had an e-mail about an hour and a half later with the finished lion!!! What I wouldn't give to be as talented as Melissa!
I fell in love with this cutie pie instantly so HAD to create a card. And since this baby in my tummy is taking it's time I decided to make it a 'Welcome Baby" card... perhaps he'll accept this invitation :). Here is my sample:
The lion was colored using my trusted Derwent Watercolor Pencils and Copics and 3D paperpieced. Almost all the materials used are from last months Card Art monthly card kit. Here is a close up of the cute little lion:

Can you tell me what kind of paper you use to print and watercolor? How do you dry printer's ink so it doens't run when applying water?
I love all the shapes you added to this card, is the pentagon a spellbinder?

This is a message back to C. Matthews (I don't know how else to reply :) ). I print on correspondence cards, no fancy papers or anything like that. I always print the images I want to use at least a day in advance and the few times I wanted to use an image right away I heat setted them with an embossing heat tool. I do try not to touch the lines to much but I have to say I don't have a lot of trouble with running ink when I use my watercolor pencils or my Copics. The pentagons are Spellbinders, I used both the scalloped and the normal large octagon-sets.
