New challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges with Tweetest Friends by Little Cottage Cuties

Hi everybody!!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges and what we want you to do is use blue and/or purple tones on your projects. I needed one more teacher gift so I decided to make another Slip Cover box as these are super quick to make and decorate it with Tweetest Friends by Little Cottage Cuties from Whimsy Stamps. This means I'll have two of these boxes to give to the teachers, the other one being THIS one with the Flower Fairies I did earlier.

The image was actually pretty challenging to 3D paper piece but I do like how it turned out. The pretty design paper I used is by Maja Design and it's from the Vintage Spring Basics line. I used purple and white cardstock and I embossed the white decorative layer with a Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The pretty decorative die-cut behind the image is of course cut with the largest Spellbinders Floral Oval Nestabilities. The absolutely gorgeous ribbon is Mermaid Pale Lavender 15mm ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. I absolutely LOVE this ribbon and need to get me more colors. The Wild Orchid Crafts products I've used are:

Little Cottage Cutie Honeybee

Hi everybody,

Today I have a card to show you that I made as a guest designer for a Dutch store named Krea 'Teja'. Krea 'Teja' is one of the Dutch resellers for Whimsy Stamps products (or in Dutch, Krea 'Teja' is een van de Nederlandse verkopers van Whimsy Stamps producten dus de Whimsy Stamps stempel en stans die ik vandaag heb gebruikt is ook bij Krea 'Teja' te koop).

I decided to ink up a cutie by Little Cottage Cuties named Honeybee.

The gorgeous papers that I used are from a 6x6 Prairie Chic Collection Bo Bunny paper pad, I love the combination of sweet papers like the roses that I used and cool wooden planks like I used on the bottom of the card. The gorgeous corners are made with the  Lace Doily Corner 1 die by Whimsy Stamps. Behind the gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts flowers is a white feather and a leaf from the Doohickey Leaf & Swirl set by Magnolia. The little white swirls are cut from one swirl from Zva that I bought at The Ribbon girl along with the lovely heart shaped button that is on top of the ribbon.

Grass and green parts of flower: G94, YG63, YG91, YG0000

Whimsy Stamps February Showcase Day 6 with Bunny's Choice

Hello and welcome to Day 6 of Whimsy Stamps February Rubber & Die Release Showcase!

On Wednesday (20 February) Whimsy Stamps released this month's new rubber designs, Shapeology dies, Whimsy Designer Paper packs and new Shape EZ templates. From then until 26 February the Whimsy Stamps DT and Special Guest are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop! Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 27 February. I'll give you a list of today's hops at the end of this post.

Today I have a card to show you using one of the new Little Cottage Cuties stamps, Bunny's Choice.

 Isn't that little bunny just adorable? The papers I used are also new this release, they are from Michele Roos' Easter Eggstravaganza 6x6 paper pack and they are absolutely perfect for your easter projects. I have matched them with orange Bazzill cardstock so I guess you do need to like orange to appreciate my card :). The pretty corner is also by Whimsy Stamps, it's part of the Corner Die set and the sentiment stamps are part of the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps and are cut with the matching die. The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves under the flowers are Prima. The pearls are Magnolia Knicker Knackers or whatever they are called that were with the newspaper Magnolia magazine and the buttons were bought at a market in Leiden. The corners were cut with Martha Stewart corner and edge punches Cherry Blossom, I bought those a long time ago and never ever used them but I thought they were perfect for this spring card. Some cheese cloth, some stitches done by hand and some platinum Stickles finish things off.

And the little pieces. As you can see I did the flowers one by hand after finishing the rest of the image, it's almost impossible to decide which flower goes where if you do it the other way around.

Whimsy Stamps September review with Merry Christmas Bella

Hi everybody!!

Back with my review card for the September release by Whimsy Stamps! I decided to ink up this gorgeous Little cottage cuties (by Elisabeth Bell) stamp called Merry Christmas Bella.

If the picture looks a bit blurry be sure to click on it because the larger version doesn't. There are probably just to many details. The products I used from the Whimsy Stamps September release are of course Merry Christmas Bella but also the Vintage Christmas 6x6 paper pad by Michele Roos and, as a sentiment, the Holiday Notables 2 that I cut with the matching die.

The ribbon my friend Diana bought for me on the market (mwah!) the swirls are from Unique Hobbyproducts. I have added some pearls from stash. The poinsettia flowers are from a die set by Magnolia, the Holly and berries are from a die from Sizzix. The brads are from stash, and the pearl strings are cut from a string I bought last year at a Dutch store named Kruidvat. The doilly corners are from large square doillies I bought from an English seller on Ebay. Stichting has been done by hand and the stickles platinum to the paper and Christmas Red stickles to the red parts of the image... wish I hand't used those though because I don't like how that turned out.

Card on Copic Marker Europe blog, upcoming new release and published

Hi everybody,

I know I've been quiet for to long here. I am working on things but everything is for next week. I do however have a card to show you that was on the Copic Marker Europe blog last Monday.

I made this card using the pretty Chloe by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamp's Little Cottage Cuties. The pretty paper is from a digital set by Michele Roos also available at Whimsy Stamps and this set is called Basic Vintage Papers. The stamp-sentiments are from the Everyday mini Postage stamps set by Raindrop Echo Design (also available at Whimsy Stamps) and were cut out using the matching die. And finally the corner is the same corner I have used several times now since it's been released and that corner is from THIS set. Now that's a lot of shopping at Whimsy Stamps :). The pretty flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon I bought at the Knotsgekke kaartendagen (a dutch fair) and I have no idea what brand it is or what the shop was that I bought it from. Distressing has been done with Frayed Burlap distress ink and platinum stickles around the edges. Here is a close up of the image:

Now next week I'll have a card to show you to celebrate a new release over at Pink Cat Studio's. My friend Melissa has asked me to be a guest designer and naturally I told her yes :). Oh but wait, I also wanted to tell you I got published, my friend Julia Saddi asked me if I wanted to do a 3D tutorial for a Brazilian Magazine called Guia do Scrapbooking & Cia and how could I say anything else but yes. The magazine is both a printed magazine and an online one but to view the magazine up close you need to subscribe to the online magazine. The far away look is already amazing though, what a gorgeous magazine and I'm so proud to be in it. You can find the issue I am in HERE and my little piece is on page 86 and on.

So that's it for me for today but I'll be back on April 3rd for the Pink Cat Studio release. Have fun playing the game in the meantime!!
