Brownies in a jar with Margot by Shaky A.

Hi everybody!

I'm back with a new project! I have been fascinated by all these jar recipes that I have seen on internet. I think they are so cute to give as a gift, maybe for a teacher or when you go to visit a friend. And when I first noticed my friend Alberto Gava, a.k.a. LoShakerato Alberto, a.k.a. Shaky A.'s image Margot I new she'd be perfect to decorate one of those jars. So when Alberto asked me if I wanted to be a guest designer my choice was easily made :). Thank you so much sweetie for having me! Here is the project I made with his sweet Margot.
I have filled the jar with a brownies recipe that I found HERE. This Dutch lady, Marieke, has both the Dutch and the English recipe on her blog and she also sells gorgeous labels to decorate a jar if you want a simpler decoration. She uses a smaller jar so I have multiplied the amounts of ingredient to fill up my liter jar. For my Dutch readers/ voor mijn Nederlandse lezers, ik heb de pot gekocht bij Dille & Camille HIER.
The back of my jar holds the instructions that Marieke provides on her blog... in Dutch of course.... but just realized while type this that I should have multiplied the amounts there as well.... oh well, I have it saved so will just print it again and glue over it :).
A close up of sweet Margot, as always colored with my Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced.
And the side of the jar where you'll see the layers with ingredients. My layers aren't perfect but I read somewhere on her blog later that you get these better if you put pressure on each new layer with a cocktail muddler so I'll try that next time.
And the little pieces that form Margot.

I hope you like my project. I'll bake this first batch of brownies this weekend because I do feel you need to try something first before you give it away (nothing to do with the fact that I love brownies ;) ). I'll post a picture after I've baked them. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Willow the Birthday Fairy Slipcover box

Hi Everybody,

You may remember that I did a couple of Slip Cover boxes by My Time Made Easy before. This template is really simple to make and I love how you can decorate these boxes. Since each year I have some last minute teacher gifts to make (and I hate last minute work) I decided that this year I'm going to create about one gift up front so that when the time comes that I need them I have some at hand (or I could use them as a small gift when we go visit people or something like that). This is my first for this year and I hope you like it.
The image that I used is one of the newly released images by Tiddly Inks, Willow the Birthday Fairy.
A close up of Willow, colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced as always.
And the gorgeous embellishments, all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I adore the big trellis roses.
This is the box opened up. You'll find more versions that I made of this box, also with filling HERE.
And the little pieces this image was made of.

The Copic Markers that I used are:
Skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000
Hair: E55, E53, E51, E50
Wings and boots: E84, E81, W0, W00, CB (and Diamond Stickles on the wings)
Gift wrapping paper: E42, E41, E40, W0, W00, CB
Ribbon around gift: E84, E81, W0, W00, CB (and after that layer dried) YR23, YR21, YR20, YR00 (and Diamond Stickles)
Pink: R89 (only to darken the R85 marker so not directly on paper but I went with the brush side of the R85 marker over the wide nib of the R89 marker to pick up some of the color and then colored onto the paper), R85, R83, R81 (and only on the dress after the first layer dried) W3, W1, W00
Shading: W5, W3, W1, W0, W00 (I also distressed the back with Frayed Burlap distress ink).

I hope you like the box! Have a great day everybody!!

Wish upon a star

Hi Everybody,

I'm back with my first Christmas card of this year. I know it feels like we have ages until Christmas but it's just a little over twenty weeks, so if you create about one card a week like I do (admitted this past week it's been more) then to have a couple to send to your closest friends and family it's just about time you get started :).
The stamp that I used is from Sugar Nellie and she's called Wish Upon a Star. I've had it for ages but never used it and figured it was about time I inked her up. I was kind of surprised to find out that Funky Kits (the shop that sells Sugar Nellie stamps) no longer has this stamp in rubber. They do sell it in digi though and you'll find it HERE. I've used lots of yummie goodies on my card, perhaps a bit to much for your taste, normally my cards are calmer but I kind of like it this way for this time :).
A close up of the Wish Upon a Star image, as always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced.
And a close up of the pretty Wild Orchid Crafts flowers that I received just a day or two ago. I LOVE the new Magnolia's and Apple Blossoms so HAD to use them.
And the little pieces this image was made of.

Hope you like my first Christmas card of the year even though temperatures outside probably don't give you any Christmas fibes yet :). See you back soon!

Well rounded thank you

Hi everybody,

Two cards in two days! That's what you get when there's rainy weather and the kids have their summer break :). My card today is completely different from my card yesterday. Where yesterday my card was very bold in colors today my card is more romantic.
The image I used is called Well Rounded Elephant by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. This stamp was also released in the period that I wasn't crafting but had to order it because I think it's so super cute! The flowers and leaves are all Wild Orchid Crafts and I adore these colors (links below). The fabulous thank you chipboard shape I bought from Sister Art Creation, two sisters, one in Germany and the other in Indonesia who sell the most fabulous quality of chipboard. They don't have a store yet but sell through Ebay. You'll find their Facebook page HERE. But be warned, they have a fabulous selection.
As always the image was colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced. I'm still in doubt if I should have paper pieced the head like I did but I wanted to give him blushing cheeks that stood out. I think I'll try this image with a "flatter" face as well.
Have to also show you the back of my card as I love it :).
And the little pieces that together form the image.

Hope you like! Don't worry, no card for the next couple of days but hope you like this one :).

Little Posey

Hi Everbody,

I'm back with an image I've been wanting to work with for some time now :). When Sylvia Zet released this image for Wee Stamps I was in my craftless period but I adored it SO much. Hope you like what I did with her as the colors I've used aren't my usual and my card turned out pretty busy :).
Isn't little Posey adorable? She's available as a digi and a rubber stamp. I think she's such a cheerful thing and for me that meant she had to be coloured in bright bold colors, that's why I used the red, orange and yellow. And when I was busy coloring here I decided I wanted a big contrast color so that's where the black came in.
A close up of little Posey, as always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced for extra dimension and she's got a ton of stickles on her and some liquid pearls on her antenna's and around her.
Gorgeous Wild Orchid Craft flowers :).
And the little pieces that were used to create this image.

It's a rainy day here in The Netherlands but I feel this card brings in a little sunshine. Hope you like it!! Have a great day everybody!!

Teacher gifts

Hello everybody,

Today I have some teachers gifts to show you that I made last week. I decided to keep them pretty simple since I had to make three of them but I still hope you'll like them.
These are two of the three boxes I made holding 8 "Merci" chocolates per box. The box was a template that I bought from a Dutch website that sells templates. There were two PDF files that I printed on cardstock and design paper, cut, put together and decorated. You'll find the link to the purchased template below.
The adorable image is by Whipper Snapper Designs and she's named "Little girl with dotted present". I colored her three times in the same way with my Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced her. The ribbon that ties the two sides of the box together used to be available from Wild Orchid Crafts but is no longer available.
On the other side of the box I added some pretty roses and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts. There isn't much room to decorate on this box but can't make a gift without some flowers on them.
And a side view of two of the boxes so you can see the "model" better.
I packed all three boxes in cellophane wrapping foil and decorated that with again the bright pink ribbon and brads and blooms from Wild Orchid Crafts.

And a picture of the little pieces, a total of three images stacked and ready to be glued together.

I hope you like my little presents for my kids teachers. I'll leave you with a list of products used.

Materials used:
Stamp: Whipper Snapper Designs Little Girl with Dotted Present
Template: Sweet Treats Merci from Cards etc. Shop
Papers: From a brandless paper pack that I received from Christa Mulder some time ago :). No idea where she got them but loved the colors and designs.
From Wild Orchid Crafts:
Foundation White Blooms (3cm/1.18")
Foundation White Blooms (4,5cm/1.75")
Mixed Color Medium Pearl Brads
Green Rose Leaves 25 mm
Pink Open Roses 25 mm
White Open Roses 15 mm

Card for Danny

Hi everybody!

My friend Jacqueline Lancaster Beddingfield posted a link on Facebook to this story about a five year old boy who is battling cancer and who's wish for his sixth birthday, which is coming up next Friday, is postcards with his name on them. His story touched me so I went to work straight away and this is the card I made for Danny.
The image that I used is called Cuthbert Balloons and it was an image by Pollycraft. Unfortunatelly Pollycraft no longer sell their digi's online. All That Scraps does sell a selection of rubber stamps but this one isn't in that selection. I thought it was a cute image for a five year old boy though.
A close up of the image. I didn't take time to take a picture of the little pieces I'm sorry. It's colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced as always though. The balloons got a shiny coat as did his nose.
I hope you like the card I made for Danny but much more important, I hope Danny does. He likes Super Mario and Lego's as does my Leon (who is four) and Leon thought the card was really cool so I hope they also have the same taste in cards :). If you want to send a card to Danny as well please go to THIS link and you'll find his details. Let's make this a birthday he'll never forget!!

I'll add a list with materials that I used tomorrow but wanted to get this card online to hopefully inspire more people to send Danny a card.

MiRan a new artist at Whimsy Stamps

Hello everybody!

I'm here today as part of the Whimsy Stamps blog hop to celebrate the debut release of their new Art by Mi Ran Collection! They have 7 new rubber stamps, illustrated by Mi Ran, exclusively for Whimsy Stamps. If you didn't come here Samantha's blog you may want to start at the beginning of the blog hop at Ruza's blog HERE. If you do the entire hop and leave a comment at all the stops you have a chance to win the Grand Prize of 3 new Art by Mi Ran rubber stamps!! Whimsy Stamps will draw the lucky winner from the comments left on the different stops. You'll find the next stop in the hop on the bottom of my post, but first I want to show you what I created for this hop:
The pretty stamp that I've used is called For You, I adore this pretty girls large eyes and her pretty dress. Since she's really girly I decided to go all girly on this one. The base of the card was cut with the Double Scallop Square Doily die by Whimsy Stamps which right away makes the card decorative I think. And the text stamp, which is also by Whimsy Stamps I thought was perfect to go with this image. I've used some gorgeous embellishments mostly by Wild Orchid Crafts (you'll find a list of the products below) and the papers that I used are from the Always and Forever solid and design paper paper pads by Lili of the Valley.
A close up of the image, as always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced. I've added some yummie stickles here and there and some gloss to the balloons.
Had to show you the back of the card as well :). Again the pretty Always and Forever papers, the double scallop border die to go with the card shape and I'm still so much in love with my personal stamp created by Meljen's Designs and Ann Vento (also for Whimsy). I've paper pieced the heart with matching design paper.
The side of the card. What I've done is I've folded a sheet of white kraft cardstock in half and placed the double scallop square die on top of that with one edge slightly over the folded side. You do have to run the stack a couple of times through your cutting machine and perhaps help some of the pieces that aren't completely cut with fine scissors but I love the shape of the card. I've cut two more squares and glued those exactly over both sides of the card to make the card more sturdy and to complete the shape of the square at the folded side. Hope that all makes sense to you if not just let me know :).
And the little pieces. There were some tiny pieces in there and not everything went perfect, especially the right ear/hear/face gave me a hardtime and I ended up taking the easy way but I do like how she turned out.

Hope you guys like my card and the new artist. There are more images being released today so be sure to check out the Whimsy Stamps blog HERE for more blogs to visit!

Materials used:
Stamp: For You by MiRan for Whimsy Stamps
Sentiments: Birthday Letter Seals by Whimsy Stamps, my custom rubber stamp by Whimsy Stamps
Dies: Double Scallop Square Doily die by Whimsy Stamps, Double Scallop Border Die by Whimsy Stamps, circles were cut out using Nestabilities
Other: Golden, Diamond and Star Dust Stickles, stitches by hand, Flower Sparkly Button by The Ribbon Girl.
From Wild Orchid Crafts:
Mixed Pink Carnations (not in store while I right up this post)
Mixed Earth tone Wild Roses 30mm
Mixed Pink/White Cosmos Daisy Stem Flowers
Deep Ivory Sweetheart Blossoms
Baby Pink Sweetheart Blossoms

Baby box with Giraffe by Lee Holland

Good morning everybody,

First I'd like to remind you that I have an auction going on on Ebay that will end soon. It's for the box I made with Wee Stamps Maya and the amount I sell the box for minus the costs for Ebay and/or Paypal will go to KiKa. a Dutch charity foundation that brings in funding solely for research to childhood cancers. You'll find that auction HERE.

But of course I also have a new project to show you guys today. This project was sort of meant to be. Now this is going to be a bit of a story so you can just skip to the next paragraph if you want :). A week or so ago I was searching Etsy for digital images and I came by an artist named Lee Holland with Lee's Digi Shop on Etsy. I decided that I really liked his or her images (Lee can be both right?) but since I have a new policy for myself that I can only buy an image if I am going to use it right away I decided to remember the artist. Then I came by a blogpost of a Facebook crafting friend Sandra Janssen-van Mourik HERE where she used an image by this same Lee Holland. She had made the pretty project as a design team member for a challenge blog named Love to Create that was sponsored by the same Lee Holland this week and where the theme was "Make it for the kids". Now the same Sandra has had a gorgeous little baby girl named Tessa last December in the period when I was away from Facebook and blogland a lot. Normally I would have made her a small gift or card to congratulate her but I never even noticed. Now this little girl is turning a half a year TODAY! And today is the closing day to enter a project for the challenge! So I decided that this was meant to be. So I decided I had to buy one of Lee Holland's images for a box that was made for little Tessa for her half a year birthday.

I decided to work with Lee Holland's digi Baby Giraffe which you'll find HERE. The pretty papers are Pion Design My Precious Daughter which I bought from Creashop Duymelot except for the strip of dotted paper which isn't that much visible after all the flowers were added (LOL) that strip was a piece of scap paper..
A close up of the cute little Giraffe. As you can see I also stamped on the back, the stamp that I used is no longer for sale unfortunately, it was from Elzybells Stamps that stopped a few years back. I stamped the baby words with antique linnen distress ink and hten went over it again with a wet paper towel to lighten it a little bit. As you can see also pretty frantage on the papers and I hand stitched around the circles again.
A side view of the box. As you can see I used some lace along the side of the top of the box. Love this lace by The Ribbon Girl, I'll add the link to it below.
And a little detail pictures of the pretty flowers and stuff :).
And finally a picture of the little pieces used to create the image. Not that much this time.
The Copic Markers that I used on the baby giraffe are:
Light skin: E53, E51, E50, CB
Brown spots: E59, E57, E55, E53
Background: Behind the giraffe R83, R81, R00, R0000, CB and for the floor E44, E42, E40, CB and both also got a layer over that with W3, W1, W0, W00, CB
Materials used:
Ticket stamp (with birth date): Holiday Ticket Sentiments by Whimsy Stamps
Papers: Pion Design My Precious Daughter (12x12) and piece of scrap paper
Letters: Thickers Chipboard Glitter Letter Stickers Bubblegum
From Wild Orchid Crafts (they are having a sale at the moment) I've used:
And like I told you in the beginning I'm entering this box into the current challenge at Love to Create which is Make it for the Kids.
That's it! Now here's hoping that Sandra likes the box and to ask Sandra for her address to send it to her :S.
Hope you have a great day everybody! Fathersday here in the Netherlands, we've bbq-d with my parents and my "little" brother yesterday and we'll visit my in laws today.
