Hi sweet people!!
I'm afraid you won't find any cuteness here tonight... oh well perhaps a little bit because that robot might just be seen as cute. I have discussed the Post voor Kanjers organisation a couple of times now so I think most people will know what they are about by now but for those of you who don't, Post voor Kanjers has both a list of crafters and a list of seriously ill children and their brothers and sisters and together with the crafters they make sure those children have a little sunlight in their mailbox on a regular basis.
This time I was asked to send a card to a fourteen year old boy who loves engineering. I went way out of my comfort zone and this is the result:HERE. I have used digi papers by Low Country Scrapper named Techno Punk and to make it somewhat cooler I have added some strips and a corner of Inkssentials Foil Tape that I first embossed, then dabbed some paint on the foil using a denim paint dabber, let that dry for a couple of minutes and finally whiped most of the paint off using some paper towl. I basically did the same with the name, I used precut chipboard letters and a sillicone mat to emboss the foil tape that I had first taped to a piece of white cardstock and then did the same process with the paint dabber and the paper towl. I have added some silver stickles to the letters as well. The gears are Idea-Ology Mini Metal Gears by Tim Holtz and Movers and Shapers Magnetic Die Mini Gears cut from Bazzill Bling Tiara cardstock. I have also used Idea-ology Mini Fasteners brads. The ribbon, white and red cardstock are from stash, the banner shapes were cut by hand and the shape behind the robot is a nestability label 1 die that was inked using a Ink Blending Tool and Fired Brick Distress Ink and a while the die was still on the shape.
And a close up of the little robot from Shery K Designs that was colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced.
Well hope you like my card even though it's not what you are used to from me. But can't send a card with flowers and cute little girls or fairies to a fourteen year old boy can I now :). Be back soon!!
