Hi ladies!!
Well, I still don't have a lot of time to spare but I do feel the need to create again. I have all these ideas in my head... if I just had more time :).
Today Pink Cat Studio is releasing these gorgeous new digi's:Aren't they cute? And as you can see on the image, if you place an order with Pink Cat Studio TODAY you get the cute Lily and Tweet image for FREE!!!
I decided to print Raincoat Lily first. I had all these ideas for sentiments to combine her with. How about "Count your rainbows not your thunderstorms". I read that one on a blog the other day, not sure which one but loved it! You could draw a rainbow with Raincoat Lily or Billy. Or what about "You are my friend, come rain or come shine". You could add a sun. But I decided to go for "Na regen komt zonneschijn", or in English "After the rain comes the sun", a Dutch saying which says that even though things may be looking down now, there will be good times ahead. I know just the person I'm going to be sending this card to, she can use a little sunshine. Here is my card:
I'm so happy with the result :). Inge used some gorgeous Chatterbox paper the other day which got me thinking about my old sheets of Chatterbox paper. I got my box out and found this gorgeous paper which I think is just perfect for this card. There are both the warm sunny colors to represent the sunshine and the cool blues to reflect the rain. And don't those paisley shapes resemble raindrops? The rhinestones are also by Chatterbox, they were in a kit together with the paper. I colored Lily with both my Derwent watercolor pencils and my Copics and did a little bit of paperpiecing. Here is the result:
And how do you like my sun? Doesn't her smile remind you of somebody?
It's Lily's smile :). I punched a design paper and a cardstock circle with my nesties and decided to use the tutorial I told you about in my Sunday post.
I printed Lily at 150% and placed her on a lightbox, placed my DP circle on top and traced Lily's smile with a black marker. So simple but I love how it turned out. The cheeks were done with my Copics.
Well hope you like my card! Remember to check out the Pink Cat Studio blog for more samples by the other members of the Design Team, you can of course also check out their individual blogs (links on the right)! And if you want to get yourself one or more of these Lily's or Billy's you can find them HERE. Remember, if you order today you'll receive Lily and Tweet for free!
Take care!!
