Being on the Whimsy Stamps design team, even as a special guest designer, is the coolest thing. There really isn't a better team around and a better boss-lady then Denise Lynn, the owner of Whimsy. Denise often gets asked for special cross-promotional things and she always shares these opportunities with the girls and the boy on her team. This time she asked us if we wanted to work with muslin bags from a company named State Line Bag Co. and since I love to decorate whatever I get in my hands I said yes :). I received three premium muslin bags in different sizes to work with and I decorated the middle size. This is the result:
Now you may recognize this exact colored image because what I used was THIS card that I did a while ago with Sylvia Zet's gorgeous Dandelion Girl. I opened the picture of the card in a photo editing program, made the background transparent and printed the little girl on photo transfer paper (van de Hema Nederlandse dames :) ). I "borrowed" a piece of pretty fabric from my best friend Diana, handsewed that to the bag and frilled the edges. I took another piece of muslin and transfered the image onto that, cut that out, hand sewed the edges of that and attached that to the bag using Olba glue. I attached a bow with a shiny button, some roses that I cut with a Chinese Roses Die from Marianne Design Creatables from felt that I bought at Sew Sweet. I put two pretty beads in the middle of the roses and a little leaf that I cut from felt as well behind the roses. The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Letter Seals set and I stamped that directly on the bag using Fuchsia Pink Stazon ink. Oh and I also replaced the coard that was inside the muslin bag with a piece of pink ribbon with the beads attached to the end. Here is a picture of the bag flat on the table:
Something different from what I usually do but I still hope you like :). I had a great time making this!
Now if you want to give one of these bags, or no wait, TEN of these bags a go, you might want to check the Whimsy Stamps blog today. Denise is giving away TEN of these pretty bags to TWO lucky winners, and if that isn't enough, you get a surprise Whimsy rubber stamp with that package to create your own one of kind treat bag with!! Check it out now and can't wait to see what you come up with if you win!!
