New Challenge Wild Orchid Challenges and a Magnolia

Hey ladies!

Yes, you've seen it correctly... a Magnolia.... by me, LOL. Today we are starting a new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges and what we want you to do this time is use "Lots of layers". Now I'm normally not one for many layers but a challenge is a challenge so I went looking for inspiration and found this lovely tutorial by Debbie Dolphin in one of the Magnolia Ink's that showed a quick card with lots of layers created with a Go Kreate Large Frames Frilly #7 die set and I decided to use that card as inspiration. And I found it only fitting to use a Magnolia when being inspired by Debbie so this is the card I created:
I used the three different sizes of the die set to cut the gorgeous design papers by Inkido Design with. Then I traced the outer lines of the three different dies on kraft cardstock, tracing the largest one two times to use as the back of the card as Debbie did in her version. All the papers have been hand stitched together. The sentiment is one of my favorites it's from the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps by Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps, you can cut them out with a matching die. I ordered my first Frantage and had to play with that of course, used on this card are the powder blue color fragments and the Shabby Blue embossing enamel from the Jewel Encrusted Kit Blue, the Aged Embossing Enamel Ivory and the Champagne glass glitter from the Treasures Frantage Glitter Kit. The feathers are from stock as is the lace. The gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts flowers I used are:
Ivory Open Roses 20mm
Ivory Open Roses 25mm
Mixed White/Cream Trellis Roses 35mm
And Tilda in a close up, as always 3D paper pieced and colored with Copic Markers. The colors I used are (yes I do listen to all you girls asking but I just forget to take them down when I'm coloring):
Skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000
Hair: E55, E44, E53, E42, E50
Dress+butterfly+wings: Golden parts: E84, E81, W00, CB (with Diamond stickles on them)
Dress+butterfly+wings: Blue Parts: B02, B00, B000, B0000, W3, W1, W00, CB
A side view of the card and...
... the little pieces she was created from.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Well, hope you enjoyed my card and want to give our new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenges a try. I'll be back on Wednesday with a card I made for a special reason... can't wait to tell you about it then!

Hugs,

  14. OH WOW! That looks like a LOT of work but worth it because it's gorgeous!! I am sooooo trying this with layers sometime soon! And isn't that Frantage so much fun?!! Try it on metal embellishments too. Works really well. (Don't hold the metal with your hands tho. Heat travels. Just a tip I read .. thankfully. LOL!) Thank you so much for joining our "Butterfly" challenge and hope to see you play again!
